The samples are another piece of the puzzle. A console and relay are nothing without the pipes. The Style 216 is a ten rank instrument. Wurlitzer built many larger instruments, such as the organ at Radio City Music Hall, but the bulk of production was two manual organs. These were the workhorse instruments you’d find at the local movie palace. The 216 was larger than most of those and was considered the Hot Rod. By including extra ranks the 216 is capable of a wide range of tonal color.
The digital samples that come with the MidiTzer™ are hand crafted by Bruce Miles. An organ, like an orchestra is very difficult to record.

Bruce Miles has created the Cinema Organ samples from waveshapes and the result is very realistic, compact, and quiet. This is amazing because a Theatre Pipe organ makes a lot of noise. With high pressure wind and moving parts everywhere, they are a tough instrument to sample. The samples are then formatted in Emu’s widely popular SoundFont sample format. Creative Labs is the parent company of Emu, and they have included the capability to play these samples into their line of SoundBlaster Live/Audigy soundcards. These digital samples can also be played through software samplers.
